 FAQs

  • This evidence-based 12-Fix Plan integrates a Mediterranean diet and whole-food lifestyle with food timing, the newest protein science, fitness, sleep, eating ergonomics, and mindfulness all in one place!

A 12-Fix Group Challenge is a trendy, fun and supportive way to help people adopt this 12-Fix Plan and improve their physical health and mental outlook.

  • The 12-Fix Challenge is an evidence-based program designed and led by a registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN) that actually works! Participants continue their new habits beyond the 12-week challenge.

We surveyed past participants, and 98% of those who got almost halfway through the challenge continued integrating their new behaviors. That’s big for both the participants and the organization.

  • The 12 Fixes are doable, satisfying, and sustainable! Participants start with just one fix and add the fixes one at a time over the 12 weeks. This prevents too much change and information at once while allowing participants to focus on making each fix work in their lives in a way that they will WANT to continue.

Participants feel better early in the program while they are still motivated, encouraging their progress.

It actually takes 60 days to form a habit, not 30 days as once thought. With the help of team support or a competitive spirit, the program is long enough that participants practice the core program for more than 60 days.

  • Poor diet quality is the single leading predictor of premature death and risk of chronic disease. Dr. David Katz, MD, MPH, FACPM, FACP, FACLM, a leading specialist in preventive and lifestyle medicine and founder of the Yale-Griffin Prevention Research Center, stresses that the data available indicates that the quality of one’s diet has more of an impact on chronic disease outcomes than even physical activity and other health factors such as stress and sleep.

Dr. Katz says if one eats an optimal diet, exercises regularly and doesn't smoke, their lifetime risk of any major disease is reduced by 80%.

  • Participants download the 12 Fixes app and accept their invitation to the challenge in the app. During the 12-week (or 12-month) challenge, participants will use the app to answer their daily and weekly questions. The app tracks and tabulates points in the challenge. It's user-friendly, and participants benefit from the accountability and progress display.

We communicate as a group using a platform you already use to communicate with your staff. This is a place where the dietitian lead shares tips and recipes, asks and answers questions, and participants support each other.

The weekly training session recordings are also added to this communication platform every Friday, so participants can watch the new training session on the weekends and be ready to focus on a new fix every Monday.
