If Your Employees are ‘Quiet Quitting,’ it’s Not Too Late to Adjust Corporate Culture

How is your company responding to ‘quiet quitting’ that employees are adopting in droves? Quiet quitting refers to employees prioritizing their work life balance – by no longer being available after hours or on precious weekends. 

And rightly so. Salaried employees shouldn’t be expected to dedicate every waking moment to their employers. Doing so leads to burnout. Poor mental health. Poor physical health. And more. 

Employees are trying to balance both work and home life – and are struggling. Workloads only continue to increase.

If you hear that your employees are practicing ‘quiet quitting,’ it’s not too late to help them set boundaries so that they can establish a better work life balance.

Encourage Boundaries: And Help Employees Set Them

It’s never too late to examine your corporate culture. Is working until 10pm expected? Is working on the weekends typical? 

Talk to your employees. You may not be aware of how many hours they may actually be working. They may feel uncomfortable sharing with you that they feel overworked or undervalued.

Establish a culture where employees are valued, respected and heard. Where their physical and mental health is your number one priority. One way of demonstrating this is by offering group wellness programming to your employees.  

They benefit from group support and discussion about the small things that they – and the company as a whole – can do to improve overall health. And you benefit via employees that feel supported and valued.
